This article aims to disseminate the partial results of ongoing research into the artistic and pedagogical activities of Portuguese guitarists and their descendants established in Brazil between 1875 and 1875. The data and documents collected in the literature review, in Brazilian and Portuguese repositories and digital collections, showed that Maria Lívia São Marcos - belonging to the group of descendants occupied a prominent place in the artistic development of the classical guitar in Brazil, with relevant activities in teaching, performance, and photographic production.

Abstract
 

This text proposes to disseminate the partial results of the ongoing investigation into the artistic and pedagogical activities of  Portuguese guitarists and their descendants established in  Brazil between 1875 and 1875. The data and documents collected in the literature review, in Brazilian and Portuguese repositories and digital collections, demonstrated that Maria Lívia São Marcos – belonging to the group of descendants - occupied a prominent place in the artistic development of the classical guitar in Brazil, with relevant performances in the field of teaching, performance, and photographic production. The aim is, therefore, to present information that will contribute to the composition of the artistic and pedagogical memory of  Maria  Lívia  São  Marcos and, consequently, to studies on the historical path of the classical guitar in Brazil and its connections with Portugal.
