VTL - Video Transcription Laboratory (FCSH | NOVA)
The Audiovisual Video Laboratory (AVL) supports research carried out at INET-md and training in digitalization techniques of early sound and moving image recordings.
The AVL also provides digitalization and sound restoration services for individuals and organizations outside the university.
The AVL is equipped with the hardware appropriate for reading carriers of historical sound and audiovisual recordings including:
- Shellac and vinyl phonograms in all their variants
- Magnetic tape including 1/4 inch and cassette formats
- Digital media such as MiniDisc and DAT
- Magnetic digital and analogue motion picture media such as Hi8, Video8, VHS and BetaCam.
