Dance – Autobiography and memory creation present to the performing arts field a fundamental contribution when putting to a debate the artist's place as a simultaneous narrator and subject of their own artistic production. This movement that has been drawing itself out since modern times, especially in literature, and that within the contemporary, positions itself as a potent field of articulation of the art with life, and reverberates in all fields of pedagogical artistic research.

The theoretical questions, procedural and poetic, are studied here and relatedto the pedagogical artistic process of the author, resulting in a reflective analysis about their production as choreographer and contemporary creator and performer, alike with their collaborations with choreographers and contemporary creators that develop their research away from representation as the creative model and consider autoperformance as a knowledge and practical art field, that prioritizes the subjectivity of the matter.

As the fruit of the investigation, through poetic body exploration and creation, AnaVitoria reveals her creation system that has been developing itself and applying itself for 30 years in universities, movement research centers, workshops, dance companies, artistic residencies, movement directing for theatrical plays, and national as well as international study groups, deconstructing models of body-thought subjugation that dances in the contemporary world.

AnaVitória (1969-) | Post Doctorate in Performance Arts (Faculty of Human Motricity, University of Lisbon - Portugal) and PhD in Arts - Body Performances by the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO / Brazil). Award-winning choreographer and artistic director of Cia Ana Vitória Dança Contemporânea founded in 1997, dancer and visual artist having created several installations and dance videos with a focus on body poetics, self-performance and autobiographical memories. Adjunct Coordinator of the Professional Master in Dance in contemporary times - PPGPDAN from Faculdade Angel Vianna and the Postgraduate Course in Body Preparation for the Performing Arts - FAV / Brazil and Collaborating Researcher by Inet-MD (FMH-UL-Portugal), Sens-Lab (Canada) and NEPAA (Center for the Study of African-American Performance - Brazil).
