Position Statement
INET-md is a nationally and internationally recognized Research Center that is governed by three fundamental principles:
1. The exercise of citizenship by its researchers and scholarship holders is a matter of appreciation as long as it develops with respect for the value and dignity of all human beings, for Democracy, for fundamental rights and freedoms as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations.

2. Research and outreach activities carried out by its members are neither politically nor socially neutral, assuming that all research practices reflect social ties and produce social and political impacts.
3. The compatibility between the exercise of citizenship and the research and dissemination of knowledge should promote equity based on the recognition of equality between all people, as well as the deepening of participatory democracy in full compliance with the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic
