Biography
From Leiria, started his dance training in 2002. Has been a teacher at the Escola Superior de Dança (ESD), since 2013. Teaches in the Dance Degree and collaborate with the Master's in dance teaching. Was Vice-president of ESD between 2017 and 2019 and, since 2020, Vice-President of the Technical-Scientific Council of ESD. Is a member of the Dance Degree Scientific Committee between 2017/2020 and 2020-2023 mandates. Was also a Member of the Ad Hoc Scientific Committee for the foundation of the Master in Choreographic Creation and Professional Practices (2018-2020). Is a researcher at Instituto de Etnomusicologia - Centro de Estudos em Música e Dança. Has been a mentor and programmer at the MetaDança-Festival of Performing Arts in Leiria, since 2012. PhD in Human Motricity (Specialty in Dance) at the Faculdade de Motricidade Humana in Universidade de Lisboa (2018). In 2010, finished the Degree in Dance (Creation/Interpretation) at ESD. In 2012, completed the Master in Contemporary Choreographic Creation and in 2014 the Master in dance teaching both in ESD. Has professional training in Management and Financing of Cultural Organizations and Projects. In 2019-2020, he attended the Postgraduate Course in Pedagogy of Higher Education at the Instituto de Educação in Universidade de Lisboa. In 2010 and 2012, he was awarded the "Merit Award for Best Graduate" for the Degree in Dance and the Master in Contemporary Choreographic Creation, respectively. In 2017, he was distinguished by IPL with the Recognition of Activities with Relevance in the Community Award for Excellence. He highlights his contact with professionals such as: Rui Horta, Paulo Ribeiro, Rui Lopes Graça, Clara Andermatt, Francisco Camacho, Madalena Victorino, Teresa Ranieri, among others. He was a professor at Studio K-Escola de Dança from 2008 to 2014 and a teacher, in the context of specialized dance training, at Orfeão de Leiria from 2010 to 2016. Is an independent choreographer since 2009. The choreographic Works that stands out are: Corpus (2011); Retalhos (2012); Um Ensaio Sobre o Poder (GED - 2013); entre.mitências (2014), Liberdade Provisória (2015); O Princípio da Incerteza (2016); sobre a pele (co-creation with Ângelo Neto - 2017); O resto dos outros (Companhia EDAM - 2017); profunda pele (co-creation with Ângelo Neto - 2018); (Re)tratos de simplicidade (ANIMA- 2018); FaKe DaNcE ou a metáfora do encontro (co-creation with Ângelo Neto - 2019); Princípio da queda, início do fim (co-creation with Madalena Xavier - 2019); O cansaço dos seres (2020). He was a jury of final exams in artistic schools, namely: EDOL; EVDCR; EDAM; ED-SAFGP; Escola de Dança Lugar Presente; Conservatório de Música da Jobra; Conservatório Regional Silva Marques; Escola Profissional de Artes da Madeira. In 2018, 2019 and 2020, was a jury in the DGArtes Supporting Creation Contests.Research Group: Dance Studies
