Biography
Stage artist, researcher, and associate professor in the Department of Performing Arts at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil. She holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in Arts from UNICAMP and has an undergraduate degree in Performing Arts from the Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina. Additionally, she studied dance at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie Netherlands. Her work is devoted to interdisciplinary artistic research, fostering dialogue among Dance, Music, and other art forms. Her research areas include creative processes, improvisation and choreographic composition, dance dramaturgy, dance and new media, and multimodal art.
She leads the Dance Network Research Group at UNICAMP, working within the university's graduate program in Performing Arts (Doctorate and Master's levels). She is also a collaborating researcher with the Interdisciplinary Sound Communication Center (NICS) at UNICAMP, focusing on projects that integrate movement, sound, dance, music, and technology. Additionally, she collaborates with the INET-md in Portugal.
In 2017, she received the UNICAMP Undergraduate Teaching Recognition Award. She is the author of Dança em Redes de Saberes no Ensino Superior: o papel do trabalho de conclusão de curso artístico, published by CRV (2023). Her published articles discuss methodologies in interdisciplinary creative processes and poetics in the performing arts. She has directed and choreographed works with independent dance groups in Brazil and choreographed multimodal pieces for the Campinas Symphony Orchestra, the UNICAMP Symphony Orchestra, and the UNICAMP Percussion Group (GRUPU). Since 2019, she has been a collaborating choreographer at the São Paulo Contemporary Composers Festival (SPCCF), working alongside young international composers.Since 2013, she has supervised the Usina da Dança social project under the Oswaldo Ribeira de Mendonça Institute, supporting the technical and artistic training of young dance teachers. In 2015, she facilitated a Brazil-London exchange program between UNICAMP's Department of Performing Arts and the LCDS Contemporary Dance School in London. In her administrative roles, she coordinated UNICAMP's undergraduate dance program (2012-2017) and served as an advisor in the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies (2017-2021), where she was responsible for coordinating mentorship programs and orientation for incoming and Indigenous students.
