Recently, INET-md researchers, Ana Margarida Cardoso and Maria Helena Milheiro, joined, with Rui Magno Pinto (CESEM), the Editorial Team of Wind Music Research Quarterly (Mitteilungsblatt), a quarterly publication of the Internationale Gesellschaft zur Erforschung und Förderung der Blasmusik (IGEB) - International Society for the Study and Promotion of Wind Music.

This society was created in 1974 in Graz (Austria) and has promoted numerous activities to promote and publicise wind music, namely through its annual congresses and the publications Wind Music Research Quarterly and Alta Musica. The most recent international congress took place from 11 to 16 July 2024 in Valencia and strengthened the links that already exist between wind music specialists in Portugal and other countries. Researchers Rui Magno Pinto (CESEM - NOVA FCSH), Catarina Braga (CESEM NOVA FCSH), Ana Margarida Cardoso (História e Memória, INET-md - NOVA FCSH) and José Cidade (CIIE, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Porto) took part in the meeting.

The new editorial team of Wind Music Research Quarterly, made up of Rui Magno Pinto, Ana Margarida Cardoso, Maria Helena Milheiro and Áurea Dominguez (Institut Klassik of the Hochschule für Musik Basel, FHNW) succeeds to Nicholas Waldron (California Polytechnic State University) and Paul W. Popiel (University of Kansas), who, with the last issue of December 2024, now end a fruitful four-year cooperation with the IGEB.

The new editorial team is now calling for submissions of news, articles and other information related to wind music and civil, military and symphonic bands.
