Salwa El-Shawan Castelo Branco, Emeritus Full Professor at NOVA FCSH, founder and nowadays Emeritus President of INET-md, receives the Prémio Imaterial, awarded by the Festival Imaterial.
 
The award, translatable to Intangible Prize, honors the commitment and dedication of figures who have devoted part of their lives to studying cultural roots and traditions, without losing sight of their successive transformations.
 
Salwa El-Shawan Castelo-Branco, for her work in promoting and developing Musicology in Portugal, and in particular for introducing ethnomusicology to our country, joins musician Kepa Junkera, ethnomusicologist Lucy Durán and anthropologist Paulo Lima, who were honored in previous editions
 
 

 

The award ceremony will take place at the Teatro Garcia de Resende, in Évora, on May 25, at 22h00.
