Biography

César Augusto Pontes Gomes Coutinho Nogueira. Completed a Master's degree in Music on 04/30/2021 from the Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa and a Degree in Music Teaching on 09/22/2010 from the University of Aveiro. César Nogueira has been a member of the Orquestra Barroca Casa da Música since 2009. The close collaboration with this orchestra not only allowed him to closely observe the work of notable soloists, such as Alina Ibragimova, Enrico Onofri, Andreas Staier, Riccardo Minasi, Fabio Biondi, Dmitri Sinkovsky , Rachel Podger, as well as the possibility of working with prestigious conductors, including Laurence Cummings, Christophe Rousset, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Masaaki Suzuki, Andrew Parrott, Paul Hillier, Harry Christophers, Hervé Niquet, among others. During his professional career he had the opportunity to collaborate as a guest musician in several orchestras and groups, including Remix Ensemble, Orquestra Nacional do Porto, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Ludovice Ensemble, Concerto Campestre, Alma Mater, Orquestra Gulbenkian and Divino Sospiro, having worked with Peter Rundel, Heinz Holliger, Pedro Neves, Miguel Jalôto, Evgeny Bushkov, Michael Zilm, Emilio Pomàrico, Massimo Mazzeo, among many others. In 2014 and the following year, he was selected to participate in the Remix Summer Academy, a course focused on contemporary music. In the field of early music, he participated in Masterclasses with Enrico Onofri (San Leo), Ryo Terakado and Susanne Scholz (Urbino), and Enrico Gatti (Casa de Mateus). In 2019 he was selected to play solo in the project "La Primavera de La Risonanza", under the direction of Fabio Bonizzoni and John Holloway, in Milan. In 2020 and 2021 he participated in the Ensemble Academie, promoted by the Freiburg Barockorchester, having studied with Gottfried von der Goltz and Petra Müllejans. He has recorded for Naxos, Harmonia Mundi, Glossa and Passacaille with the groups Concerto Campestre, Orquestra Barroca Casa da Música, Divino Sospiro, Real Câmara and Ludovice Ensemble. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Musical Sciences at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences (FCSH). His research proposal is related to the court composer of the second half of the 18th century, João Cordeiro da Silva, with the aim of exploring and analyzing the musical and cultural aspects of his works, as well as understanding his relevance as a musician of the Portuguese court.
