Biography
Susana Belchior completed her PhD in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage, specialty in "Theory, History and Techniques", in December 2021. It was carried out at the NOVA School of Science & Technology (Associate Laboratory Requimte and DCR | Department of Conservation and Restoration), with co-supervision at INET-md | Institute of Ethnomusicology - Centre for Studies in Music and Dance (NOVA FCSH). The title of the thesis is "Immaterial in the Material: a study on 78rpm audio carriers in Portuguese collections" (grant from FCT - Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia ref. SFRH / BD / 80411/2011). Was a full-time researcher of the research project "The Recording Industry in 20th Century Portugal" (FCT ref: PTDC / HAH / 70991/2006), at INET-md, from 2008 to 2011. Has long professional experience in the audiovisual sector, having worked at RTP- Radiotelevisão Portuguesa between 1992-2003 — Broadcast Centre/Technical Department, Producer at the Audiovisual Archive Department, and Delegate Producer at the National Fiction Department — and as a sound assistant in live shows in the early 1990's.
