Biography
Klênio Barros is a contracted fellow and integrated researcher at the Center for Research in Psychology of Music and Music Education (CIPEM | INET - MD), at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. He holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology (2021) and a Master’s degree in Ethnomusicology (2014) from the University of Aveiro. He completed a postgraduate program in Music, specializing in 20th and 21st Century Interpretative Practices (2011) and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music (2009) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN-Brazil). He served as a Guest Professor at the School of Music at UFRN from 2010 to 2012. Recently, he taught Musical Expression in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education at schools within the Ílhavo Grouping (2021-2022). He has published academic works and presented in the fields of Music Education, Ethnomusicology, Popular Music Studies, and Musical Performance at national and international events. Klênio is currently a master’s student in Teaching Musical Education in Basic Education at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto and serves as a scientific evaluator for the Ethnomusicology Symposiums (XIII, IX, and X), Amazonian Ethnomusicology Colloquia (VI, VII, and VIII), and the Northern Regional Meeting of ABET (Belém-PA, Brazil).
