ICTM is a non-governmental academic organization that aims to promote the study, practice, documentation, preservation and dissemination of music and dance traditions from all countries and territories. It was founded in 1947, in the aftermath of World War II, with the aim of developing research and other actions in the domains of music and dance. Since its founding, the ICTM has acted as a consultative body for UNESCO due to its wide international representation and the crucial role of its 27 Study Groups, articulating research with social responsibility. The 46th ICTM world conference was organized by INET-md at NOVA FCSH in Lisbon in July 2022, with João Soeiro de Carvalho as chair for the Local Arrangements Committee and Susana Sardo co-chair for the Program Committee. The Lisbon conference was a great success, attracting over 700 participants. Sixty-one INET-md researchers participated in the 47th ICTM conference.
