Colloquium | Ecosonorities of popular music in Portugal in the 21st century

In the 21st century, 'popular' and 'rural' repertoires motivate musical creativity and present themselves as a subject of production, listening, transmission and consumption. In this colloquium we analyze the mediation of this vibrant matter in the construction of communities, groups and spaces of performative and (or) listening. We intend to understand to what extent this repertoire 'gives voice' and makes individuals and groups vibrate. The colloquium reveals studies carried out within the scope of the project EcoMusic - Sustainable practices: a study of the post-folklorism in Portugal in the 21st century - ongoing at the University of Aveiro.

"EcoMusic - Sustainable practices: a study of the pos-folklorism in Portugal in the 21st century" (PTDC/ART-FOL/31782/2017) is co-financed by the European Union, through the Regional Operational Program of Lisbon, the Operational Program Competitiveness and Internationalization, in its FEDER component, and by national funds, through the FCT. The project is coordinated by Rosário Pestana, professor at the DeCA UA and researcher at INET-md, and by Jorge Freitas Branco, professor at ISCTE.
