29th to 30th October, 2019 | 14.00-18.00 | NOVA FCSH

This workshop is an invitation to start recording the sounds that surround us to build stories, transforming sound recordings into sonic narrations. Different techniques of recording, deep listening, editing, and writing that belong to the process of creating documentaries and sound pieces constitute an interesting field for both anthropological analysis and artistic or journalistic expression. This workshop has an experimental and practical focus, so participants will be invited to develop an idea, a story, or a small project during the two-days workshop. It will also be an opportunity to reflect and explore sound as cultural heritage and guardian of memories: sound as an art of time, constantly in the making, and constantly changing.

Organization: Projeto "Sounds of Tourism" (PTDC/ART-PER/32417/2017)
Coordination: Iñigo Sánchez
Partnerships: INET-md, NOVA FCSH and "In the Dark"
