Edward Ayres Abreu, Director of the National Museum of Music and researcher at INET-md, was awarded the NOVA FSCH Alumni Prize 2024, in the ‘Revelation - Arts’ Category. This prize, awarded for the first time this year, aims to honour NOVA FCSH alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professional areas of training.

The Revelation category seeks to honour young Alumni, under the age of 35, who have established themselves as promising and influential figures in their respective fields. Among other aspects of his academic and professional career, the jury emphasised that ‘the work that Edward Ayres d'Abreu has been developing within the Portuguese musical and musicological spheres, and their audiences, is remarkable and unique for its pertinence, quality, degree of social impact and innovation, making a significant contribution to community and social development as well as recognising the quality of NOVA FCSH's teaching’.
