Prize | TransVariations Performance Awarded at the SMC 2024 Event"
The performance "TransVariations – Music Beyond the Limits of Time and Technology," presented by Alfonso Benetti and Øyvind Brandtsegg, was awarded the "Best Music & Sonic Art of SMC 2024" prize at the Immersive Sound and Music Computing (SMC 2024) event, held at ESMAE (Porto) from July 4th to 6th, 2024.
As part of the Immersive Sound and Music Computing (SMC 2024) event, held at ESMAE (Porto) from July 4th to 6th, the performance by Alfonso Benetti and Øyvind Brandtsegg, titled TransVariations – Music Beyond the Limits of Time and Technology, received the "Best Music & Sonic Art of SMC 2024" award. This performance was conceived by the project team of the same name, including researchers Trond Engum and Francisco Monteiro.
The EEA Grants fund the TransVariations project and involve the University of Aveiro (UA), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), and the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP). The performance featured reimagining Beethoven's 32 Variations in C minor for Piano.
