João Pedro Oliveira wins Counterpoint Competition 2011
Composer João Pedro Oliveira, professor at the Universidade de Aveiro and the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, and member of the research team of INET, has won another 1st prize in an international competition.
The Counterpoint Competition 2011 is organized by the association for contemporary music Counterpoint, based in Italy and the USA.
The piece Entre o Ar e a Perfeição, for flute, piano and electronic sounds, was unanimously selected as winning piece and will be presented in several concerts.
Earlier this year, professor Oliveira was made an honorary member of the National Academy of Music (USA and Greece) for his merit as a composer.
