Abstract
This project proposes to expand the expressive resources of the marimba through the use of elements of sound exploration. Through analysis and performance of selected pieces written for solo marimba, I intend to highlight the variety of innovative sound materials currently available when playing the instrument and the importance of a critical and comprehensive approach to the use of these elements by the interpreters. At the end of the work, a detailed catalogue of resources and a series of technical studies will be created in support of the performance of the investigated repertoire.
