News | INET-md researchers in international event on urban space and musical practices
On December 18, 2024, INET-md researchers Filippo Bonini Baraldi and Andrew Snyder, along with the French researchers Laurine Sézérat and Emmanuelle Lallement, held a one-day conference in Portuguese and French at the Maison des sciences de l'homme in Paris. INET-md researcher Alix Sarrouy also spoke, and the event was keynoted by former INET-md researcher, nowadays collaborator, Iñigo Sánchez. The conference explored the creativity and tensions of music in public space across Luso- and Francophone geographies. The event featured an exhibition of carnival masks with headsets offering a sonorous immersion in the carnivals of their origin. 22 scholars and artists from Brazil, Portugal and France spoke in person and online. The event was a fruitful expression of INET-md's thematic line on Power, Politics and Activism.
