Workshop | Generative Dance Program with Ana Leitão

Inspired by the dynamics of collective movements in flocks of sparrows, schools of fish, and herds, the program offers an immersion in the concepts of self-organization and relational composition. Participants will experience practices that activate bodily states – Suspension, Attention, and Impulsion (Parra, 2020) – developing interperformer connections and working on the action of “Othering.”

Ana Leitão | dancer, choreographer, and researcher, and director of projects such as TUDANZAS and Bacantoh. She holds a postgraduate degree in Dance in the Community and is a PhD candidate in Human Motion, specializing in Dance, at the University of Lisbon. She has taught Contact Improvisation and Contemporary Dance in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil since 2006. She also has training in Mathematics, Applied Physics to Astronomy, and Cultural Project Management.
