The Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) has included INET-md researcher and co-coordinator of the thematic line Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Inês Thomas Almeida, in the list of Women for Equality: a group of 220 women who, in the words of the CIG, ‘with fervour and determination, dedicated themselves to defending the achievements of the 25th of April, profoundly shaping Portuguese society. Fearlessly navigating the territories of politics, culture, science and activism, these women, both before and after the Carnation Revolution, played key roles in ensuring that women's rights transcended the boundaries of mere rhetoric.’  The CIG text emphasises the researcher's work to make women composers visible to the general public.

The list includes women such as Maria Lamas, Carolina Beatriz Ângelo, Teresa Pizarro Beleza and Maria da Graça Amado da Cunha.
