It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eva Leitão Azevedo, a doctoral student in the Doctoral Programme in Human Motricity – Dance at the Faculty of Human Motricity, University of Lisbon, and a non-doctoral integrated member of INET-md.

Eva made a significant contribution to advancing knowledge in her research area of Ethnocoreology and Cultural Studies, specialising in "Traditional African" Dance and "Afro-Contemporary" Dance in countries such as Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Burkina Faso, France, Spain, and Benin.

Eva consistently demonstrated an exemplary commitment to research and an unwavering desire to expand the boundaries of knowledge. She will be remembered for her intellectual honesty and dedication, as well as her empathy and sensitivity—qualities that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
