Sounds of a Revolution was commissioned by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in the context of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the April Revolution. It brings together three institutional partners: Gulbenkian Música, the Centro de Arte Moderna, and Artallis, an art school in Loures. It is an artistic and participatory project resulting in a musical performance created by contemporary artist Mikhail Karikis with Artallis students, composers Sara Ross, Francisco Joaquim and Teresa Gentil (researcher at INET-md). The creative team includes choreographer Maruan Sipert and INET-md researcher Alix Didier Sarrouy. The orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Diogo Costa. In the show's booklet, Alix Sarrouy wrote the story of this sociocultural adventure and contextualized it in the Revolutions to come.
