INET-md researcher Gilvano Dalagna presented the paper “Teaching Music Performance in Higher Education: Exploring the Potential of Artistic Research” at the international CEPROM - Commission for the Education of the Professional Musicians conference, held at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn. The event, organized by the International Society of Music Education (ISME), lasted from July 23 to 26, 2024.

At the conference, which brought together music education specialists from around the world dedicated to the comprehensive training of future professionals in the context of higher education institutions, Dalagna presented the outputs of the REACT project in full for the first time. The Erasmus+ program funds the REACT project to develop a new pedagogical model for higher education institutions. This model is based on the epistemological framework proposed by the project team, led by INET-md researchers Jorge Salgado Correia and Gilvano Dalagna. The model aims to encourage a shift towards developing students’ creativity, proactive critical thinking, and reflective musical practice. The main goal is to offer alternatives that connect artistic research, artistic training, personal development, and career management.

The official results of the project will be released in September.
