News | Doctoral Student from INET-md at the International Workshop of Ethnomusicology in Germany
Eduardo Falcão, a doctoral student from INET-md, was one of the selected participants for the 14th International Workshop for PhD Students in Ethnomusicology, which took place from June 18th to 21st at the Center for World Music at the University of Hildesheim in northern Germany. Prof. Dr. Philip Bohlman led the event from the University of Chicago, a member of the external advisory committee of INET-md. It was dedicated to discussing doctoral theses already in the writing phase.
The workshop brought together 18 researchers from various parts of the world and included presentations and group discussions. During the event, Eduardo Falcão presented the summary of his thesis entitled "Cancioneiros em Goa, representações musicais do colonial ao digital" which investigates how songbooks shape and are shaped in the construction of musical canons in Goa, India.
