PERMANENT SEMINAR ON DANCE STUDIES
 
The Permanent Seminars of the INET-md Dance Studies Research Group (GIED) are intended to be a forum where all its members (integrated and collaborators), as well as other researchers from the academic, cultural and artistic world, can present their work and discuss ongoing projects and research. The enormous challenges that await us are like a compliment to the insistence and persistence (some would say resilience) that any scientific research represents, with greater evidence in artistic areas, and one of the simple but representative reasons why the Permanent Seminars organized by the Dance Studies Research Group have salmon as their chromatic option, illustrating a continuum against the current, always moving forward in a resilient dynamic of strength and will.

Participatory Dance and Art: From Community Intervention to Research – Opportunities and Challenges

In this seminar we intend to present three artistic projects promoted by Musa – Artistic and Social Intervention Association: Inpulsar Project, AmarAdança Project; Common Place Project, stating its main results and reflecting on the challenges and opportunities of research in community intervention projects.

The Inpulsar Project involved a process of artistic co-creation using different modalities of artistic practice (dance, music, videodance, photography), aimed at people with and without disabilities, in partnership with CACI's of the Municipalities of Cávado (Amares, Barcelos, Braga, Esposende, Terras de Bouro and Vila Verde) and the community.

The LUGAR COMUM project aimed to promote the social inclusion of migrant populations in the municipality of Braga, based on dance and theatre in fusion with other artistic disciplines, having as a starting point the testimonies of the participants about their lives, their culture and their traditions.

The AMaraDança Project, based on a comprehensive model of results in Dance movement therapy, involved the validation for Portugal of a Dance Movement Therapy Results Framework and its assessment instrument (Movement assessment reporting app-MARA), and analysis of its applicability in educational dance projects and in the community. Recently, the potential of narrative in dance, initiated with the publication of the book "AMarA Dança", has been explored through the development of new pedagogical resources for the teaching and use of dance in artistic and community projects. 

 
 
 
Ana Caridade | Has a degree in Religious Sciences, a postgraduate degree in Special Education and a master's degree in Art Education. With artistic training in Dance, Theater. Training and experience in Oral Narration. Creator and coordinator of Mosaico - Platform for inclusive artistic and educational projects and president of the board of Musa - Artistic and Social Intervention Association with national and international intervention. Artistic director of Art with the Community and Inclusive Art projects implemented in Schools and Associations. Writer of books, dance and education manuals and scientific articles.
 
Rubí Élson | Graduated in audiovisual production and cinema, with a postgraduate degree in dance and a master's degree in Cultural Heritage. Choreographer and audiovisual producer. He is a teacher/trainer in the area of dance and audiovisual, with experience in Dance Education and Dance and Health Projects. Acting as a cultural producer, director, playwright, screenwriter, choreographer, dancer and performer in national and international cultural festivals. For 3 years she has been developing Education through Dance activity for Colégio Leonardo Da Vinci and Externato Paulo VI in Braga.
 
Paula Lebre | Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon. Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Dance at FMH-Ulisboa, and Adjunct Coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree "Resilience in Educational Contexts". Researcher integrated in the (INET-md-Polo FMH/ULISBOA). She has participated in national and international projects in the field of education and health promotion, as well as community programs for vulnerable groups. Of particular note is the coordination of the Project "MARA-Outcomes: framework for dance movement therapy; at the national level, collaboration in the research of artistic projects in the community.
