Prize | Alejandro Reyes-Lucero wins Merit and Excellence Prize at NOVA FCSH
Alejandro Reyes-Lucero was awarded with the "Merit and Excellence Prize 2021/22 - Best Masters" for his master's degree in Musicology - Historical Musicology. His master's dissertation looks at the artistic life of singer Ema Santos Fonseca da Câmara Reis (Faro 1897-Lisbon 1968), while also discussing and problematising the project she developed to organise concerts, "Divulgação Musical (1923-1940)", framing it within the dynamics of private "musical salons" that existed at the time, both in Lisbon and in other cities in Europe and the Americas. The title of her master's thesis is Ema Santos Fonseca and the "Divulgação Musical" (1923-1940): Biography of a Musical Salon.
The Merit and Excellence Award, instituted by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, is given every year to the graduates and masters who have obtained the best grades in their respective courses in order to recognise their commitment and dedication in the development of their academic paths.
