Specialized seminar | Creation and performance practices | Sergio Kafejian
The Institute of Ethnomusicology - Centre for Studies in Music and Dance (INET-md) is organizing the Specialized Seminar "Creation and Performance Practices", on November 9, 16, 23, and 30, from 2pm to 4pm, in the sound studio of the Department of Communication and Art (DeCA). Leading the seminar will be , lecturer at Faculdade Santa Marcelina (FSM) and researcher at INET-md.
During the four meetings, creative and performance practices involving structured and directed improvisation, associated with non-conventional notation systems, will be discussed. Starting with compositions by J. Cage, K. Stockhausen, M. Feldman, and C. Cardew, which make use of graphics, textual prescriptions, and new symbols, new creations will be created and presented at the end of the meetings.
The seminar is open to instrumentalists, singers, composers, music educators, and anyone interested in general.
