The XII Music Research Meeting, promoted by the Portuguese Society for Music Research, will take place at the Royal Building of Mafra between September 28 and October 1, 2023.

Co-organized by the National Museum of Music, with the support of the Mafra City Council, the XII ENIM will include the public presentation of the new museography project underway and will end, on International Music Day, with a concert for six organs in the Basilica.

The event will feature keynote speakers Maria do Rosário Pestana (University of Aveiro / Institute of Ethnomusicology - Center for Studies in Music and Dance) and Judith Dehail (Aix-Marseille Université / LESA, Laboratoire d'Études en Sciences des Arts).

The entire EnIM will be open to all interested members of the public. AFTERNOON EVENTS ON 01/10

 

On World Music Day Mundial da Música, in the afternoon, there are several possible activities for EnIM participants:

  • At 4 pm there is a concert for 6 organs in the Basilica. Interested participants have free entry, but registration is required at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 27/09.

  • If the weather is good, it may be possible for a small group to visit the Carillon Hall at a time to be decided. Those interested should pre-register at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 27/09.

  • At 3pm, the National Music Museum (Alto dos Moinhos) will host a free recital by flutist Adriana Ferreira and pianist Isolda Crespi Rubio. This will be the last day that the MNM is open to the public in Lisbon. Registration is not required.
