Project | Researchers challenge the limits of art and technology in a new stage of the TransVariation project
On November 14th and 17th, 2023, another stage of the research project TransVariations - Music Beyond the Limits of Time and Technology occurred, coordinated by pianist and INET-md researcher Alfonso Benetti. At this stage, the project team was joined by artist-researchers Øyvind Brandtsegg, Trond Engum (Norges Teknisk-Naturvitenskapelige Universitet, Norway), and Francisco Monteiro (IPP/INET-md), who promoted a seminar involving teachers and students from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto and an artistic residency at the University of Aveiro.
The main aim of the TransVariations project is to problematize the relationship between interpretation and artistic creation in the context of Western concert music, using innovative technological resources. Funded by the EEA Grants Bilateral Relations Fund, its proposal is to promote a paradigm shift in the artistic approach, by updating ideas and resources according to the reconfiguration of the past.
The project's next stage will be in Trondheim, Norway, in April 2024.
