Public presentation of choreographic works in the field of Portuguese and International Traditional Dances by first-year undergraduate Dance students from FMH–ULisboa and invited community groups.
As part of the Bachelor's Degree in Dance at the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon—specifically within the course Dance Techniques – Portuguese, International, American Tap and Sevillanas—the 6th Encounter of Dances with Tradition: from the yard to the stage will be held on June 4 at the Ruy de Carvalho Auditorium.
This event aims to create a space of connection with and for the community, opening dialogue around the “Importance of Traditional Repertoire in Socio-Cultural and Ethno-Artistic Contexts,” engaging diverse audiences. It also seeks to give visibility to dance works that incorporate, to varying degrees, national or international traditional dances.
The Co(m)Tradição performance concludes the 6th edition of this gathering, featuring invited groups working with dance traditions in community contexts, as well as choreographic pieces in traditional Portuguese and international dances—Sevillanas and American Tap—created and performed by first-year FMH Dance students.
