Presentation of COST Action "Print Culture and Public Spheres in Central Europe 1500–1800" (PCPSce)

Inês Thomas Almeida | INET-md / NOVA FCSH

Researcher Inês Thomas Almeida (INET-md) will present the COST Action Print Culture and Public Spheres in Central Europe (PCPSce) and explain how to join the network. COST Actions foster cooperation between researchers from various countries, funding participation in conferences, mobility, and scientific missions, among others. Funded until 2028 by the COST Association – European Cooperation in Science and Technology, PCPSce explores the cultural, economic, and social landscape of print culture and its impact on shaping public spheres in Central Europe (1500–1800). Topics include legal frameworks, circulation and censorship, material aspects (typography, paper industry, watermarks, etc.), and literary and musical genres. This session will outline the Action’s goals and themes, as well as provide guidance for those interested in joining.
