International Encounter Nuvens Nômades

This international collective was conceived as a collaborative platform and institutional experimentation space, with means to test relationship protocols between various collaborators, in order to start initiatives of formation and research, that can contribute with new knowledge and critical approaches when thinking of the crossroads between art and life in a contemporary society.

Some of Brazilian Contemporary Dance Master Angel Vianna's legacy and pedagogical artistic reverberation (1928-), had intentions of expanding her work internationally, as well as their consequent fluxes and derivatives to beyond the borders of your origin country and entropic territorial tropics.

The name given to the collective is inspired by the iconic phrase "people are like clouds, always transforming", and seeks to recoup the irreverence with which we often identify ourselves with when bringing together artists and researchers of various original and creative realities, which come from potent and anarchical actions from this mentor and provokes the body art that singles itself out in the world.

The Post-Grad Masters Professional Dance Program at the Angel Vianna University (PPGPDA-FAV), together with the Ethnomusicology Institute - Music and Dance Study Center (INET-md), together propose an encounter to elaborate on creative reflections when sewing ways of contamination and affections that evoke physical and mental wellbeing, deriving from sensitivity and its various affective aesthetics.

The NUVENS NOMADES encounter will happen on the 20, 21 and 22 of November of 2024 at the PENHA SCO space in Lisbon, with dance workshops, creative somatic practices, conversation circles, exhibitions, dance videos, and performances.

This encounter seeks to promote pedagogical artistic doings with professionals, beginners, and possible interlocutors (practical theorists) exercising themselves in the visual creative research field as well as the body art field, evoked by multimodal and intercontinental knowledge.

Here is our invitation to you, so that we can sew our knowledge and actions in this encounter. Oxalá (we hope) we can come together to approach the light quality of clouds and shape it to what we desire!
