Encounter | 3rd Dance with Tradition Encounter: from the yard to the stage

The "3rd Encounter of Dance with Tradition (EDT): from the terreiro to the virtual stage" takes place on the Zoom and Educast platform. It is an initiative of Dance / Social Dance Techniques of FMH UL and INET-md, coordinated and produced by Margarida Moura and Maria João Alves. This 2nd EDT intends to be a moment of connection with the community, promoting a collaborative debate about the challenges in teaching and choreographic creation in traditional dance. It promotes space and visibility for the presentation of artistic practices and community projects that integrate more or less traditional dances, both Portuguese and international. We count on the active participation, as guests, of professionals such as teachers, performers, choreographers, producers, researchers, as well as students and audiences interested in the subject of Traditional Dance. With a virtual presentation model predominantly audiovisual, the 2nd EDT includes a testimony of life, two discussion forums and an artistic panel for the presentation of artistic practices and community projects in traditional dance, as well as choreographic works of traditional dances from 1st year students of the Dance Degree at FMH. Establishing and strengthening bridges between academia and civil, educational, cultural and ethno-artistic society is undoubtedly the reason that underlies and leverages the design and production of this event.
