Open Class | The Invention of Tonality: Beyond the Nature/Culture dualism

Are musical languages arbitrary social codes or are they founded in nature? Is tonality an invention or a discovery? The historical construction of the tonal system in Modern Europe is a good case to question the long-term entanglement of musical, physical and social realities.
