ÀCORDA Meetings were born in 2018, fueled by the common awareness of the need and importance of preserving traditional knowledge with regard to instrumental musical practices, namely those related to Portuguese wire guitars. In this sense, the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra has joined, once again, with the UNESCO Chair in Intangible Heritage and Traditional Knowledge, from the University of Évora at the INET-md | UA and with the Municipality of Coimbra to organize the ÀCORDA - IV Meeting of Traditional Portuguese Chordphones. As we are in Coimbra, the viola toeira will be an obligatory presence. For this edition, we invited the viola amarantina.
