Biography
Artur Calado is currently a technical research fellow of the SOMA project - Sounds and Memories of Aveiro - at the Institute of Ethnomusicology - Center for Studies in Music and Dance, at the University of Aveiro´s branch.
He has a degree in Electrical Engineering - Electronics and Telecommunications (IST), CEMS Executive MBA and PMP by PMI (Project Management Institute).
He worked on the development of telecommunications systems, assuming various levels of responsibility, having developed his activity in companies such as PT Comunicações, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau and PT Inovação.
He was a managing partner of a technology and market consulting company.
He was executive director of Inova-Ria and had teaching experience at IST and UA.
His research interests are related to music and sounds in their various aspects: history and tradition, social context, creation, production, dissemination and preservation, from a local and regional perspective.
